Big Day Bird Count 2008

Common yellowthroat. Photo: Ken Habermann.Greenbrook conducted its annual Big Day Bird Count on Saturday, May 10, 2008. As in previous years, staff and members hiked the 6½ miles of sanctuary trails in search of resident and migrant species. The total number of species counted this year was 80.

The count began at 5:30 AM and ran until sundown. The day’s highlights included: northern harrier, cedar waxwings and red-breasted nuthatch as well as Blackburnian, hooded, and mourning warblers.
