registration of the boat and trailer, possession of a boating safety

Basins
There are two boat basins in the
NJ Section of the Palisades Interstate Park,
Alpine Boat Basin,
operated by the Park, and
Englewood Boat Basin, operated independently.
These basins have a combined capacity
of around 250 slips, and both have fuel docks and showers. Transient slips
(when available) can be rented on a nightly basis during the season.

New Jersey Boating Law and Regulations, whether they are tenants of the
basins or using Hazard's Ramp. This includes but is not limited to proper
registration of the boat and trailer, possession of a boating safety
certificate, and operation and outfitting of all vessels in accordance with

South to north:
Englewood Boat Basin
(N40°52′42″, W73°56′44″)
is adjacent to the
Englewood Picnic Area
in Englewood Cliffs, NJ (driving directions),
about 2 mi. north of the George Washington Bridge and opposite Spuyten
Duyvil, New York. Englewood Boat Basin is operated under a lease agreement with Monte’s Marina Services,
LLC.

Alpine Boat Basin (N40°56′44″, W73°55′10″) is adjacent
to the
Alpine Picnic Area in Alpine, New Jersey (driving directions),
about 7 mi. north of the George Washington Bridge and opposite Yonkers, New York.
It is operated
directly by the Park Commission. The rental season for slips is from May 1 through October 31. Applications
and payment for renewal are due by March 1 of each year. (Slip
assignments are made by mid-March.)
Winter storage is not available at
Alpine Boat Basin.

Launching

Trailer-towed, registered
boats under 24 feet in length, including jet skis,
can be launched at the
Hazard’s Dock Boat
Ramp (see below) beneath the George Washington Bridge for
a $20 fee payable at the entrance booth to Ross Dock. Season passes are also

Car-Top
Boats (canoes and kayaks) can be launched at the beaches at the
northern ends of
Englewood
Picnic Area and
Alpine
Picnic Area. Normal
parking fees apply, and boaters must be able to carry their boats and equipment from the
parking areas to the launch areas. Car-top boats may also be launched at
Hazard’s Dock Boat
Ramp (see below) beneath the George Washington Bridge for
a $10 fee payable at the entrance booth to Ross Dock. Season passes are also

Site Description
A boat launching ramp for registered,
trailer-towed
boats under 24 feet in length, jet skis, and for
launch of car-top boats (canoes and kayaks).
Hours and Fees
Boat ramp open
daylight hours during warm weather months—click
to check current hours of operation (posted on our home page). A
$20 fee
is charged to launch trailer-towed boats and jet
skis, $10 for car-top
boats. Grounds open daylight hours year-round (for hikers, birders,
etc.).
A season pass
is available for both trailer-towed and car-top
boats (click here for details).

Vehicles without trailers are not permitted in the
Hazard’s parking area, unless being used for
launch of car-top boats (to avoid
ticketing, parked cars
must have visible roof racks).
Trailers are not permitted to park in the Ross Dock
parking area, only at Hazard’s.
Trailers must use the
southern park entrance off River Road at the Fort
Lee-Edgewater border.
The Port
Authority of New York & New Jersey maintains a security booth on the road to Hazard’s—bring
a valid form of photo
identification
with you.
Coast Guard Auxiliary is present
most Saturdays between June and September to inspect boats and answer boater
safety questions.
