Permits are not required for park visitors collecting images for personal use within the Park using a single camera or recording device during regular park hours.

Weddings & Other Group Photos

Photographers and videographers do not require a permit if capturing content for private events such as weddings, proposals, quinceañeras, etc., if the group size is smaller than 25 and the photographer is using non-stationary photography and recording equipment. Ancillary equipment such as signs, banners, balloon arches, carpets, etc., is prohibited. Area amenities are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

A permit is required for wedding photos and similar if the group is over 25 or is coming in a vehicle longer than 20 feet in length or which has more than a 15-passenger capacity. These permits are issued year-round except weekends and holidays at Picnic Areas and State Line Lookout. For more information and an application, please email permits@njpalisades.org.

Larger Scale and Commercial Photography & Filming

These permits are issued year-round, except on holidays, holiday weekends, and on weekends from May 1 to October 31 in all Picnic Areas, on all trails and access roads, at State Line Lookout, and at Fort Lee Historic Park.
