On Saturday morning, “sutlers”
sell their wares at the visitor center at
Fort Lee Historic Park,
while fires get lit at camp kitchens on the grounds—and
sugar gets snipped by the baking oven…

As the morning waxes into midday, participants form up for the annual parade to Monument Park
(in the
town of Fort Lee).

Back from the parade after noon, dinner is served—while some
of the officers take
shelter from a biting mountaintop wind in the newly constructed officers’ hut.

An artillery demonstration takes place after dinner, including
the firing of the fort’s massive 32-pounder.

A demonstration featuring an assault on the Historic Park’s
blockhouse caps off the busy day.

Kearney House on
Friday evening.

Saturday morning, the troops march toward Fort Lee. Below,

The 32-pounder (which would shoot a 32-pound cannon
ball) is fired at Fort Lee
Historic Park on Sunday afternoon.
