Fort Lee Historic Park: “Living History Program”

From September through December and March through June, schoolchildren in grades five and up who are studying the American Revolution and would like to experience life as an eighteenth-century soldier–recruit in George Washington’s Continental Army, can visit Fort Lee Historic Park for a 5-½-hour “living history” program that combines discussion, demonstration, and hands-on participation to give students a complete learning experience.

Palisades “Reality” Bus Tours

General Information

Guided bus tours of the NJ Section, which are conducted by the staff of the Kearney House, are offered on weekdays only. Reservations should be made as early as possible. A reservation is not complete until the entire fee is received and processed.

Tours are conducted “drizzle or shine.” In cases of severe weather, tours will be cancelled (the determination will be made by 8:30 on the morning of the tour). Groups are encouraged to select a rain date with their reservation.

A group must provide the bus and driver. Only one bus can be accommodated per tour.

Fees

For “jitney”-type buses (up to approx. 20 passengers): $100.00

For school-bus type buses (up to approx. 40 passengers): $150.00

For tour-bus type buses (up to approx. 50 passengers): $200.00

Notes: Smaller buses are preferred due to the narrow roads in the park; larger, tour-bus type buses need to follow an altered route. Reservation fees will be refunded only due to weather or other conditions and when no rain date can be established within the calendar year.
